CCA Comedy Night 2006

Image  On Saturday, March 4th Central California Alliance (CCA) hosted it’s second annual Comedy Night. The laugh filled event took place at Fagan’s Irish Pub on Kern street in downtown Fresno.

The valley’s own Amy Shuklian, who has also appeared on NBC’s “Last Comic Standing”, hosted the evening with her own trademark wit, touching on her Armenian heritage and trading jibes with the women in the audience.

Mike Uryga, hailing from San Francisco, started off the set. Mike, who’s credits include Comedy Central Laugh Riots, Last Laugh, The Improv, Punchline and Underground, had the capacity crowd roaring, recounting the side effects of his favorite smoke and his experiences as a gay man on his first trip to a straight strip club. Mike’s stand-up is available on DVD.

Up next, also from San Francisco, was Chantal Carrere, who’s appeared on television’s “Laugh Across America” and Q-TV, and in clubs such as the San Francisco Punchline. With an energetic and non-stop assault of double entendres and revealing re-telling of some of her less successful sexual adventures, Chantal kept the crowd in stitches.

Another successful event from CCA, Comedy Night is sure to become an annual adventure.
