New Revelations From The Westboro Baptist Church

By now, most of the gay community is familiar with the antics of the Rev. Fred Phelps and his family circus known as the

Baptist
Church.  Being a native of

Topeka,
Kansas, I got to watch from the front row as their picketing evolved from hand written signs for pickets at a local park to their nationwide crusade of insanity.  As such, I usually keep an eye on their antics out of sheer morbid curiosity.

Over the last couple of weeks two new bits of noteworthy insanity have emerged from WBC.

The first, from one of their blogs, is, oddly enough, an attack on the fundamentalist Christians who oppose marriage equality.  Marge Phelps writes in her blog, “The fags are 100% right when they ask what business you so-called Christians have telling them they can’t marry – and thereby pervert the institution of marriage as God established it (one man, one woman, one life) – when you do the same yourselves every single day!  How many of you columnists for The Conservative Voice are divorced-and-remarried?  How many of the false prophets in the whore houses posing as churches are divorced-and-remarried?  You know the answer is LOTS!”

Okay, so it’s not exactly a ringing endorsement for our side.  However, for the other side, you know your arguments against gay marriage are weak when you can’t even get the WBC to buy into it.

The other noteworthy piece of information is what can only be a “divine revelation” for the Phelps clan. They have “discovered” that in addition to Gays,
America,
Canada and
Sweden that God also hates

Ireland.  While you can read all about it at www.godhatesireland.com, that’s not the funny part.  In addition to commanding the WBC to hate
